Jet2 grew out of a Yorkshire freight operator and turned into a leisure airline flying Britons to the Mediterranean, the Canaries and Alpine ski destinations. Its Boeing 737s and newer Airbus A321neos operate a strongly seasonal schedule, with peak summer capacity far above winter.
Jet2 flights departing UK airports are covered by UK261, paying 220 GBP up to 1,500 km and 350 GBP between 1,500 and 3,500 km, which covers most Spanish, Greek and Canary Islands routes. Departures from an EU airport back to the UK are covered by EC 261/2004 instead, because Jet2 holds a UK operating licence and the flight leaves EU territory.
If you booked through Jet2holidays, compensation is still owed by the airline while refunds and holiday remedies come from the package contract, so pursue both separately rather than accepting a single goodwill gesture. Jet2 sometimes offers holiday credit instead of cash: you are entitled to money, and accepting credit can be treated as settling the claim. Escalate unanswered claims to the UK CAA.
